Brunel ranks among the UK's best universities for sport, and its facilities are used by some of the country's - and the world's - top athletes. The main grass pitch has hosted an array of professional teams including the Austrian men’s national football team, Queen's Park Rangers U18's, and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. The Sports Park's FIFA-approved 3G pitch was fully refurbished in the summer of 2020 and is available for use if required. The Sports Park is serviced by a Sports Pavilion which underwent a £1.2 million refurbishment programme in 2013 and boasts 14 changing rooms with showers, plus a teaching space which can also be used as a media centre or analysis room. Also part of the Sports Park site, the multi-million pound Indoor Athletics Centre (IAC) recently underwent refurbishment and is a centrepiece of the university's performance sport facilities. Its 6-lane sprints straight and dedicated strength and conditioning area make it one of the best indoor training facilities in the country, and it is recognised as a UK Athletics Regional Performance Centre.
